Job Description

The software QA specialist is a member of a growing software QA team responsible for developing and maintaining the verification environment for an innovative high-performance enterprise-level storage product. The successful candidate will join a world-class group of engineering professionals working to unleash the full potential of Diablo’s Memory Channel Storage (MCS) technology in high-performance server and storage applications.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
Develop automated test programs and tools that address areas such as software scenarios, functionality, regression, fuzz, performance, reliability, and usability testing.
Conduct software tests with application software, software drivers and hardware adapters under various operating systems in an enterprise server environment.
Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
Identify program deviance from standards, and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
Investigate customer problems referred by technical support.
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality.
Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.

Job Requirements

Computer Science or Engineering degree.
At least 5 years experience in a production software verification/QA environment
Overall work experience including:
Windows, Linux/Unix and VMware vSphere/ESX environments
Familiarity with Windows and Linux disk tools such as fdisk and disk management
Strong skills in Java including Apache Ant and JUnit
Programming and other scripting languages such as C/C++, Perl, Linux shell scripting etc.
Strong background in test automation
Experience in software testing in the field of storage
Strong conceptual abilities in writing cross platform code.
