Short info about me
- Been with Oclug since before the board existed
- Linux user since back in 1992-93 or so
- Age: Born 1965 in Piteå (North Sweden)
- Moved to Canada: First Montreal in 1995 and then to Ottawa november 1996.
- Family: Wife Punam Bhargava, son Adrian (7 March 1994) and daughter Anika (6 June 1997).
- Occupation: Working at EDS Canada Inc. as part of a global Linux support team. Have also worked with BMC Patrol support and as a system manager on VMS systems
Some of the Linux/Opensource things I use/have some experiance with/been working with
- Linux OpenSuse 10.0-10.2 use daily
- Linux Mandrake most versions up to 10.1
- Linux Redhat - misc versions.
- debian/gentoo/... haven't gotten around to it yet
- iptables & shorewall, using it for my firewalls
- Bacula (
http://bacula.org), an enterprise backup software package, using it at two sites
- Amavis, clamd, spamassassin
- postfix, MTA that does the same as sendmail
- LVM, Logical Volume Manager, using it on most servers
- Software raid, have implemented software mirror on some servers
- nagios, monitoring tool, installed and figuring out how it works
- ldap, using it for user accounts (including email & samba) but have lot to learn
- php, web scripting language, wrote some small apps in it.
- phpwiki & mediawiki, using it for some stuff like this site
- rsync, syncronize/backup files/directories between servers
- DNS server, running internal home for all systems
- DHCP - server, setup for internal home servers
- ntp, running one local timesource synced from internet
- redhat kickstart, engineered a big environment used to load several servers farms
- gnupg, using it and have my public key at
