April Meeting: AGM and EEC Memory Talk

Date: April 3, 2014 at 7 p.m.
Location: Shopify Headquarters

This is our AGM and election of board members. At this point, we do not have enough candidates for an election, however we still have to go through the announcement of the slate to the membership and accept any nominations from the floor. Further details follow.

After the AGM, we will be having a talk on ECC memory. This will be a little more technical, but will be of interest to a wide variety of members.

As per our newer format, we will have a one hour pre-meeting item from 6:00 to 7:00 for people who are new to Linux, have general questions, or wish to help out with people who are just getting started.

Annual General Meeting

Speaker: Aaron Wilcox
Speaker: Ian Gorman
Speaker: Richard Guy Briggs
Speaker: Scott Murphy

This is our AGM and election of board members.

We will have our election of officers at the meeting. As of this point, we have the following people on the slate:

  • Richard Guy Briggs
  • Ian Gorman
  • Scott Murphy
  • Aaron Wilcox

We could use an additional candidate or two, as we are a little low on board members. Four is sufficient, six would be better in case of circumstances requiring an existing member to step down.

In addition, according to the bylaws of the non-profit corporation, we require at least 20 people to be present, either in person or via proxy. We will have a sign-up sheet for the election and will require all present to sign in order to prove the election was held in compliance with the bylaws.

Proxies can be registered by sending an email to the board email address (board dash members at oclug.on.ca) prior to 17:00 on Wednesday, April 3rd so that we have a record prior to the election.
