[oclug] Libre Office Base - need some help

I've been asked to set up a database for a club and I'm doing this in
Libre Office Base (using openSuse on a laptop).

My problem is that I cannot seem to get the form field controls to
work. The database has 3 tables with the common relationship being
"UNIQUE_ID". However, I cannot get the form designer in L-O-Base to
actually work.

If there is someone around Ottawa who could show me how this is done,
I'll buy the beer.
