Thank you Charles. I too had it working on an earlier version of Linux 
(Xandros I believe), and it mostly worked. I don't recall the same 
installation problems (Xandros and Corel Linux both being 
Debian-based?), but there were sillies IIRC like Alt-F3 changing virtual 
screens, instead of invoking "Save As".

Speaking of hard-coding, I believe they even had DOS file paths ... 
looking for C:\blah\etc

I heavily rely on WordPerfect's "Reveal Codes" and I haven't grown 
comfortable enough using OpenOffice to settle for that.

If I cannot resolve  my WPO2000Linux difficulties and it must be 
relegated from Shelfware to Curbware, what's next? LaTeX, Groff ...? 
Looks like they have to be invoked from the command line ...

Back onto the shelf for now ...
