You're right, but sometimes you need a friend to simply tell you what to google
for ;-)
e.g.
---O to make your Linux box appear in your Windows "network neighborhood" use SAMBA
---O to run command-line programs on a different computer, use putty/ssh/telnet
---O to virtualise one of your computers on another one, use VNC (client and
server available and compatible on both OS's)
There's also a problem with Linux stuff that there's TOO MUCH information out
there: a link to exactly the right getting-started tutorial can be invaluable.
P.S. on the subject of telnet, is there any difference between rlogin and
telnet? On any computer I've used, they seem to do the exact same thing...
