(See my other answer) I think the RAM's OK, but it's a good question - I was 
assuming that the ram was good, because it was good in the OLD motherboard - but 
since one of the original pair I got did go faulty, I should use memtest on 
principle - partly because of the passage of time, and partly because of the 
possible different timing of the motherboard. Thanks for the reminder.
