My policy on using old computers is to make them work as firewalls,
name servers, mail servers, web servers and so forth.  These machines
don't generally need great deals of performance power, nor does it need
any fancy things like a monitor, keyboard and mouse.  Slower machines
are therefore ideal for things like that.
