Looks like a fairly flawed study to me. Using five "main" (note the
quote) open source projects as indicators of who funds open source is
certainly not a large sample.
Heck, appendix B makes determinations on stalled projects, project
activity, newly started projects, based upon sourceforge. I know of quite
a few projects that have left sourceforge, especially a few years back,
when they were having issues with connectivity/responsiveness of their

So much can effect the outcome of such sampling, when you use such a small
