The sad thing is, true AI is likely going to be developed for content
filtering before anything else. :P  Just imagine how horrible spam will
be, when VOIP, TV, GPS phone SMS messages, and everything else is filled
with it.

Unfortunately, once that happens we'll truly enter a life where only
ideas we are comfortable with, and agree with, enter our view.

Personally I like reading articles that I disagree with strongly.  I
subscribe to magazines from all ranges of the political spectrum, and read
them, even though many of those same articles make me want to go punch a
cat.

Guess what people!  If you don't find yourself disagreeing with what
you're reading a lot of the time, you're reading the wrong stuff! 
Effectively, you're just reading the textual equivalent of a 'yes man'.
