Take, for example, the situation with the PM diverting his jet to pick up
fleeing Canadians. If he did not do that, he would have been vilified by the
neo-libs, and quite rightly so, IMO. OTOH, he kicked everyone off the plane
(including the press, who woe of woes, had to suffer another night in Paris
in a luxury hotel), except for a communication director and the official
photographer (not a press photographer, but the official photographer that
must accompany the PM to record his activities). Regardless of whether or
not the diversion ended up being effective (as unfortunately, Cyprus was not
the best place to send Canadians after all), the motivation came from the
right place - the desire to assist with the tools at his disposal. But, the
neo-libs call it.... a photo-op. If Jean Poutine or Mr Dithers or Wacko
Jacko had done the same though, well, then it would have been a measured
assistance from the government, wouldn't it?
The media is biased, too centralized, too partisan, too profit-oriented...
but then, it really is just entertainment, isn't it?
