Clearly.  However, at $8 per month for a landline, one could reduce their
cell phone plan a bit, perhaps, and use their landline instead when home.

My general grouse is the cost of that naked line... $17 bucks is a joke,
it does *not* take Bell $17 to maintain that line.  I might buy $1 per
month as ongoing maintenance costs, but $17?  Pfft!

Bell was recently ready to roll out fibre to every home... at
least they were a year ago.  I've heard they dropped this idea, deeming it
unfeasible for the near future.  What we really have here, is a bunch of
union protected, technological neophytes living on their historical power
base.  Hell, they don't even _see_ that power base eroding!

Frankly, I don't really see Bell Canada's future as all that rosy.
