I've got an interesting puzzle. When I connect to my mail server
directly with a mail client, specifically Sylpheed-claws 1.0.5 to send
mail via SMTP everything works fine. No problems. However, when I do
the same except allowing Postfix to the do the transfer for me, as Mutt
does by calling Postfix's version of sendmail, the mail server at the
other end bounces my mail saying that my IP has been black listed at
dul.dnsbl.sorbs.net. Someone using my Sympatico dynamic IP-address
before me must have been doing something bad for indeed that IP has been
The puzzle is this. If that IP has been black listed, why would it
bounce the mail sent by Postfix and not by my Sylpheed client?
It's time that we started being truly correct rather
than being "politically correct."
