MythTV is certainly not a mature product. It's beta, at best.
However, it is very nice, and will be quite the piece of work one day. If
you kick it enough, patch or code around issues with "stable" releases,
you'll have a nice end result..
Of course, you won't get perfect output to TV without jumping through
many hoops. The current, easiest solution for good output to TV, is to
deinterlace the output.
Which of course is a crime. De-interlacing an interlaced recording, on
playback, to an interlaced device.. it's just foolishness. This isn't
Myth's fault, but a lack in Nvidia, ATI and other graphic card drivers +
kernel support. Matrox is a solution, but uses fbdev.. which is the spawn
of the devil. :/
