I'm going with:
Hauppauge PVR350 for both capture and display
AMD Athlon 1800PR (overkill considering PVR350 has hardware encoding 
and decoding)
2x120 GB ATA drives mounted as a single filesystem through LVM as 
/home/mythtv/

I can't say that it's fully operational yet, but that's my fault, not 
the hardware.
