[oclug] MTU/MRU issue

Hi!!

I have a connection with MAGMA, it's a static IP, 3Mbps, I am in the
Toronto area, and I have been using MTU/MRU 1492 for almost two years
with no trouble at all.

Since three days ago the machines inside the LAN cann't surf certain
webpages, like real.com, windowsupdate, etc (maybe the old don't defrag
bit?). After talking to the guys at MAGMA, they told me to "play" with
the MTU/MRU in the range 1400-1454 !?!?.

My question is:

Something similar happened to any of you recently with MAGMA? 
What MTU/MRU are you using?
