[oclug] Legalities of riding the neighbour's wireless

Hello,
like most of you ( I think few people still use dial-up) I have cable
access and I run several computers at home at the same time.
It seems to me that you would notice when the load suggest you are not the
only one to use your internet connection ?
I like very much AOL ad on tv that pretends people are looking for trouble
being not careful about having a little protection.
If you are informed enough to choose wireless connection then if you let
other people taking advantage of your internet access it might be because
you are willing to share it.
Am I right ?
