Actually, there is emperical evidence that there is no complete list of
members. Members of both of the current board, and the previous board
have indicated that their understanding was that *attendance at meetings*
was (a/the) requirement for membership. What they appear to rely on is
simply whoever shows up at a meeting where a vote is taken, is a member
for the purposes of the vote.

There is no discussion on the board list of membership applications, and
has anyone attended a general meeting during which a ratification of
membership was held?

Now, in my case, I have an e-mail from the secretary of the provisional
board of OCLUG somewhere, in response to a direct question: "Am I a
member?" that says "Yes Rod, you are a member". So without any
information to the contrary, that is my position on it regardless of the
current board's stand. I did once send an e-mail in the heat of
discussion that said I resigned my membership, but I withdrew it when a
board member asked me to reconsider.

Rod.
