Okay, 

does anyone recommend a place to buy a digital camera somewhere in
central Ottawa?

I'm looking for a point and click, first time camera, just something
with basic functionality that will work with Linux. I'm talking around
$150 here.

I don't really want to order one online, but my problem with looking
around for shops is that these places don't seem to have their wares
on the web anywhere, so I can't checkout beforehand whether they have
something in my price range and whether it's Linux compatible. I don't
want to spend my saturday going and back and forward between different
shops and my computer.

>From a little reading, I think that most cameras will have USB mass
storage and/or PTP, in which case they will be Linux compatible,
otherwise I think I'll assume they aren't.
