"... Character, the source code for which they registered with the Institut
National de Propriété Intellectuelle (INPI), the French National
Intellectual Property Institute. Registering source code with the INPI is a
necessary step in protecting software copyright under French law."

I found this fascinating as, while we are required to submit schematics,
blueprints, etc. to the US patent office and a copy of any written material
submitted for copyright protection; I wonder if the source code is required
for software patents or copyrights in the USA. It would seem to make sense
and would provide one form of potential verification of source code for
claims of this piracy and to address security concerns when dealing with
sensitive or military hardware or information.
