underway by a phd student to create a cd distribution of windows compatible
OS software for mass distribution in magazines etc. They are current working
on both content and a release date a present. What is interesting to me is
the distribution method to gain max exposure as this will determine the
viability of the effort. So if interested have a look.
Of further interest is that the project is currently only looking at linux
cross over software ie: linux software that operates in a windows
environment. If they are smart they will find out that not only the linux
camp has adopted OS licensing scheme but that there is some excellent
software using gpl'd tools build specifically for windows, and while its slow
in comming it is available. Sorry I don't have the url, but the best (read
ease use and most comprehensice editting capabilities) 'free' video editting
and cam capture software I came across with written specifically for windows.
(The app is on a crashed windows machine...virii...:))
