walk up (yes, climbing) the #5 trail from Centre Asticou to #15 where the
trail crosses first chemin Notch, and then meeting the Promenade (Parkway),
and then about 3k NE on the Parkway (crossing chemin Kingmere) over to
Penguin. As a shortcut, on chemin des mines (Mine Rd.) you can jump on the
#15 close to des Hautes Plaines as well cutting off about 3k.

About 30 pounds, five years and one child ago, I spent years almost full
time mountain biking and cross country skiing the Park.  I know my way
around the Gatineau Park better than Orleans where I now live.  Ain't it a
shame how our priorities change.
