"Is the LSB only for Linux systems and applications?
No. It can be supported with relatively little effort on other platforms
using the UNIX operating system and work-alike variants.  It would take more
work, but once a processor-specific LSB Specification is available, there is
no fundamental constraint to supporting the LSB under most other operating
systems."

The linux community (including those who make up the LSB project) is
generally acknowledged to be strongly supportive of interoperable software
that can easily migrate from one platform to another. In fact, one of the
stated secondary aims of the LSB project is to facilitate porting of
applications to Linux. What better way to do that than to eliminate
differences wherever possible?
