I tried to scan through all those messages to see if anyone actually 
listed the local choices for SIP... a quick source for those trying to 
wade through the market.

unlimitel.ca
Great service, well priced - very reliable. Look under wholesale for 
local numbers (and Toronto etc) priced by the minute
No online signup, requires a fax but fast turn around. They also provide 
local termination.  Sound quality is top notch.

voipjet.com
US based, fairly reliable - good prices for international long distance 
and generally good quality (IAX only - no SIP)
Online signup, free trial - generally a great no hassle service.

livevoip.com
As noted above customer service is a problem and prices/offerings seem 
to change weekly - I would avoid them.

teliax.com
Good US based coverage, good customer support and good prices.

As for Canadian 1-800 service, I am currently testing 3 providers but 
with few exceptions expect to pay >.04/min from Canada. If anyone has 
better I would love to hear about it - I had one at .02/min but they 
seem to be having problems.
