[oclug] SCSI or HPT370??

The CMOS settings on a computer I have inherited from my son (it is
faster) has a choice between two settings. CMOS or SCSI. As the computer
boots it brings up " Highpoint HPT370 ATA100 Raid Controller --
1999-2001-- Bios V 1.10B"
which goes on to tell me "No Drive" on the varius drives.
If I set it up to read only the SCSI, the above still comes up.
I've read a bit on the above but I think I need an interpreter to turn
it into english for me. :)
All of this has come up because I am trying to upgrad the Bios. The
upgrade goes through OK but then the computer wont boot properly. When
it starts it starts the booting goes from the floppy to the CDROM to the
DVD and then should move on and boot up the main system. Instead, what
is happening is that it keeps cycling between the CDROM and the DVD and
never boots the main system. As the Bios upgrade disk is bootable, I am
able to get the system to boot and return it to the original bios. So I
am wondering if the above SCSI/HPT370 is having some effect.
Libranet 3.0 is now out and I would like to put it on this new unit.
Can someone help me out please?
