I have a curious problem when I try to network SAMBA on Linux and Micro$oft
computers. I have a common workgroup and when I observe the "Network", I get
a different picture from each computer. I have to search for the computers
from the Micro$oft side XP, S2K and Server 2000. I get some showing up a
"Computers near me." but I also get one or two showing up in my network
list. On the Samba side I get all the Samba servers showing up but only
some Micro$oft systems. Some I have to sign on to and some I don't. I
guess what I'm saying is that nothing consistent. What I want is a Network
list that shows all systems and my ability to access them. Any thoughts?
Another curious problem is that transfer time from one of the SAMBA servers
to Server 2000 could best be described as 110 baud over a poor dial-up line.
