As a point of interest, wouldn't one of their points -- that disks are
slower these days -- be a null argument with regards to swap?

That is to say, sure, it makes swap more costly, but it also makes an
increased disk cache more profitable, right?  Again, we return to the
'VM decision' issue.

Just my two cents + curiosity.
