True. Still, new members will require that the list be useful to
them, which requires the maintenance and growth of the expert pool.

Thanks for the history. I attended one meeting way back when (at
Algonquin), but didn't really have the time to participate until
earlier this year.
I don't think it's impossible to reach that again. I would enjoy
doing so, mostly for the advocacy benefit it would provide... albeit
not so much for the ability to help them, since I personally have some
difficulty communicating with newbies on topics I'm experienced with.
(I'm not a 'big picture' type by default.) :)
This brings up the point that we also need a full spectrum of talent,
not just the kernel hackers and the brand new installers. Hopefully,
if we can increase the participatory volume and bring back some old
members, this will take care of itself.
