this topic.  After much thought about whether I should reply offlist at 
all, and a little about what I should say, I did reply offlist.  I have 
reconsidered.


This is an important topic.

I will not open any future offlist communications on this topic.


The person said something which I think should be said publicly on list.

I think you should copy to the list the email which you sent to me.
If you do I will copy to the list my reply.
