[oclug] sylpheed quirks

I installed Knoppix 3.4 on my hard drive last week as an easy way of
getting a Debian system up and running. Before installing, I backed up
my home directory which included the mail directory for sylpheed-claws.
After installation, I apt-get installed sylpheed-claws (0.9.10claws),
pointed it to my restored mail directory, and rebuilt the folder tree.
All went well and I had my old mail back.

Now for the quirk. Whenever I close sylpheed, it's like it loses the
state of the mail directory. When I start sylpheed again, the mailboxes
are back to the state that they were in when I first installed sylpheed.
If I rebuild the folder tree, then the emails that I've received, sent,
etc since the installation show up, but the ones that aren't in the
trash or sent folders show up as new, even though they've been read and
were marked as such before sylpheed was closed. Has anyone else had this
issue?

Thanks.
