[oclug] Caching nameserver lookups?

For some reason, it takes me half a minute, sometimes more, to from 
"Resolving (whatever)" to "Transfering data from (whatever)". And
if I reload that same page, it takes the same amount of time. 

That info can be cached locally, I would think. That would speed
the process up, so there must be a setting somewhere I can tweak
to get that to work right. What should I be looking for here?
