This June, the Ottawa MapServer Users Group would like to invite you to
attend the Open Source GIS (OSGIS) 2004 and 2nd Annual MapServer User
Meeting. The meeting will be taking place at Carleton University,
Ottawa, Canada between June 9-11, 2004.

Open Source technologies have been developing rapidly in the GIS
industry around the world, especially in the last 5 years, mimicking the
broader IT industry. By attending this conference, you will have the
opportunity to meet the many people both implementing solutions in their
organizations, and developing the core technologies. Industry,
Government, NGOs and Academia alike will be well represented and engaged
in the important discussions, and conference presentations and
workshops.

For more information on OSGIS 2004 and the 2nd Annual MapServer User
Meeting, please visit the conference website at:

http://www.omsug.ca/

The early bird registration is available only until April 30th, so
please register soon. In addition, the hotel rooms and rates are only
guaranteed through May 9th, so book your accommodations as soon as
possible, as we cannot provide any guarantees beyond this date. Tourist
season in Ottawa starts in May/June so booking a hotel late can be
tricky.

The Program is beginning to fill as you will see from the large number
of workshops we have booked -- see the conference program for details
(http://www.omsug.ca/osgis2004/program.html). This is tentative, but
should give you an idea of the kinds of presenters and topics that will
be covered. We continue to welcome abstracts for presentations from
attendees, see the call for presentations for more details
(http://omsug.ca/osgis2004/call4presentations.html)

Finally, we would like to welcome our initial sponsors - Tydac, GIS
Monitor and DM Solutions Group. Without their support, this event would
not be possible. For anyone who is interested in sponsoring and/or
exhibiting, please contact us - details are on the conference website.
There is also a bonus for early-bird sponsors before April 30th.
