The reason the fun is dying out in OCLUG is largely due to two things.
One, that you people take yourselves far to seriously. Just because life
is serious does not mean you have to be. We need to generate within the
list and at the meetings the same spirit of fun we have at our annual
picnic, although even there I have noticed a few overly serious party
poopers.

Secondly, the constant insistence that this list as a technical only
list must stop. This list was not intended to be that way at all. In the
early days it was very ecclectic, and we had all sorts of things to talk
about because Open Source was, and still is, a very big topic. The only
people who objected were the self absorbed navel gazing techology only
people. Everybody else was having fun.

There are a few other issues as well, but these are the two main ones.
Almost all the orignal OCLUG pioneers are gone, one by one
systematically been alientated and driven out of the group. These were
the people who kept the group going during the "dark ages" and kept it
alive so that you can have an OCLUG today. When the next "dark age"
arrives, I seriously doubt that there will be anybody of the calibre of
those who were forced out to keep it alive.

OCLUG is dying, and you have only yourselves to blame. There are, of
course, people who want to see it die.

The Liberals are owned by the global capitalists.
The Conservative/Alliance/Reform party would rather be Americans.
The NDP are all busy trying to revive the corpse of international
socialism. Then there is the Bloc ...

None of the political parties in Parliament represent Canada or the
interests of Canadians.

We need a new political party that will represent the interests
of Canada and not that of foreigners and foreign interests.

We need a viable Nationalist Party. Let's talk if you're interested.
