I have heard reports that it is a bit more memory hungry on the install.
Maybe if I'm bored one day I'll do a real comparison. ;)
Still, if one were to upgrade from 2.1 to 3.0 _after_ the install, and
kept a 2.2 series kernel, memory requirements should be close.
