Its for the people who think i am peppering the list with questions and not making a self effort
Well I am sorry, the impression is wrong.
I mail a question only after I have tried all my resources.
Till date, I have been able to solve most of my problems for myself. And this mailing lsit has proved beneficial.
Regarding the issue of NIS the problem gets solved whrn I import the passwd and group file from NIS server to NIS clients, but I think this is not the solution
Kindly guide me

While I'm all for helping people to help themselves you have been
peppering this list with questions over the past couple of days and have
not shown us that you are making an effort to solve the problems on your
own. I'd encourage you to use Google and other documentation available
to research the issue.
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/NIS-HOWTO/ would be a fabulous place to start.
This list is here to help when you can't find a solution on your own or
to help point you in the right direction. Its not the best spot to outsource
your IT requirements to.
