According to this article [http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=4618]
posted on 2003-09-22, "Suse, Mandrake, Redhat (beta), and Gentoo" all
have support for this platform. It seems to be trade-off between cost
and headache at the time the article was written. No mention of debian
in the article--odd, considering that there has been traffic on the
debian mailing lists since (at least) April 2003.
