Because there is far less packaged for KDE with FC1 than there is for
Gnome. There appears to be an bias towards Gnome. While I'm sure the
existing packages will work fine, I think I might want to try another
distro to truly check out KDE3 in detail. 

Either that, or KDE just comes in far less pieces than Gnome does, which
is entirely possible. 

Hmm. I just ported a vaio-tools rpm to FC1, but it doesn't seem to
include anything to control the LCD output. Anyone know of a good vaio
tools package that will permit me to control LCD/VGA?
