[oclug] [OT] Sun vs MS Java suit

In case anybody that cares missed it, Microsoft won a small victory
yesterday in that they are not compelled to carry Java in Windows.  It is
seen as a "blow" to Sun in the media, some sort of threat that gives .NET
an edge.   But it seems to me that condition in the injunction Sun won
last year was more an extra kick at a giant while he was down.  In other
words, it really doesn't matter.

I'm not entirely sure why the media thinks it matters.  Microsoft doesn't
carry support for C++, Perl or Python and whatnot in their OS distribution
either, so why should they have to carry support for Java?
