There's also bitlbee (which I use) which you might not want to think
about as it allows any IRC client to be used to access Jabber (as well
as AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, and the other proprietary IM networks). It's
quite useful, but probably won't help you any.
If you want the choice made for you, then just use GAIM (which some of
bitlbee is based on).
