Hi all,

I've stayed away from Internet chatting due to all the warnings I've 
read about it being a security hazard. However, I would like to use it 
as I see its benefits. Are there any suggestions? good tutorial sites? 
Questions I have are, which IRC client is best, how do I open the 
necessary ports and keep others closed. What and where are the port 
access logs for review and what would I look for when reviewing. How do 
I know when my 'chat' is being compromised. Etc...

PS I'm using Rogers as my ISP and I'm running RH8 on an Intel x86.
