I have only good things to say about the G550's. Unless you are looking
for 3D you will get your money's worth.

They have fantastic 3d support on Linux.

Don't get the top of the line ATI. A guy at work recompiles his X
weekly because he finds it unstable on his Radeon 9xxx (sorry, I don't
follow the ATI product names).
The support for the 6month old products seems to be good with ATI, but
not the cutting edge stuff. Anyway, he is running dual head on it, but
he cannot get a stable dual-head setup with DRI. locks up after a few
days.
