It's one weapon in the war chest, and a pretty good one.  It shows SCO,
and anybody else out there who may be thinking about this sort of thing,
that we are not going to simply lie down and be walked all over.  If SCO
wants to sue IBM, fine.  But if what they do affects my livelihood,
I am going to take action.

That too is important.  I'm not advocating placing all of our hopes in a
single basket.  This has larger implications than merely SCO.  If SCO
thinks that they can get away with bashing Linux, then someone else
might think the same thing. 

The real issue here is more about deterring others than it is
about getting compenstated for loss of business.  SCO is merely the tip
of a very large iceberg.  Let's all take measures to prevent our
becoming the R.M.S. Titanic of the second great computer age.
