I've found Debian has actually been quite accepted in the corporate
market.  For the most part, at least as far as my clients have been
concerned, the recognised product name has been Linux not RedHat or Debian
or Gentoo.

I think so.  If they aren't told what Linux admins think they can
legitimately argue they didn't know.

Yes, this is where they went wrong (imho).  It should have been:

"A thinclient on every desktop"
