As one of the younger (one of the youngest?) OCLUG participants, I find
it frustrating to see 'mature adults' acting in such foolish ways. More
noise is generated whining about the offtopic posts than the offtopic
posts generate in the first place. Refrain from replying to them and
they will go away. Besides, they only take a few seconds to manually
filter with your brain.
By posting to this thread in the first place I'm being a hypocrite, but
this foolishness has to stop. Many people have suggested in the past
how to avoid seeing offtopic posts and how to filter/ignore threads and
contributors to the list.
The list appears to be fine as is, as suggested by the
non-implementation of new lists or moderation when the issue has risen
in the past. Why does this issue never go away? Am I missing something?
I bet I end up regretting writting this...
