Opps. My drive was leaving and rushed me out the door.

[1] many of the default options are now what I consider sane options. I had to 
make fewer changes to the config under 2.6 then I have been makeing for 2.4. 
The EEpro, and NCR/Symbios drivers come to mind.

I could not find these options anywhere so I started picking through the 
Kconfig files. By default CONFIG_INPUT was set as a Module. For the console 
options CONFIG_INPUT needs to be set to yes. We shall see how it goes now.
