Some background.

SKyrix is the supplier and for SuSE's Exchange Server that has been available
for almost 2.5 years now under different names. While not well known in NA
its a rather common entity in the backoffice of european corps, smb's and
smc's. Its rock solid and tested. The name change was percipated by a change
in the operating system code base from SuSE linux to united linux to which
SuSE is a contributor.

SKyrix has now open sourced their code component: groupware package. They do
not own the plugins and as far as I know they are currently commercial
products and extend the functionality of standards compliant design to
communicate with propriatory platforms. ie: exchange server, and others etc.

This is indeed wonderfull news for the OS community but more importantly for
developers of client based software be it OS, which we prefer, or commercial
as the entire back end is documented, accessible and plays nicely with known
standards. There is nothing like a good OS project to stick it litterly in
the backend of propriatory offerings...:)
