Not so. Maybe I'm missing something but, as I said before, it sure
sounds like your Xsession is broken, like the one for the person who
posted previously. Again, what distro(s) are you guys talking about?
RedHat's works fine.
If that's the case, it seems to me the appropriate thing is to fix
what's broken, not add to the confusion (about shell initialization)
with unnecessary workarounds. And if you can't fix Xsession, it seems
to me ~/.xsession is a second choice.
