    Venting is fine. Many members of this list do it regularly, myself
included. 

    Yes, there will be anecdotal evidence of more success with Windows
than with Linux. There will also be the reverse. Lists like this permit
individuals to hear from a lot of Linux fans, such that they might
recognize that their one bad experience is not representative of Linux
in general. 
    I've had friends just amazed at how easy Linux was to install and
set up, and they're still fighting with 2000 and XP. It depends on the
distribution you use, how much time you're willing to devote to it, and
what hardware you have. 
    Personally, now I just get annoyed with the hardware manufacturers
who don't support Linux. When I buy a new computer, I'm very selective
about my hardware. At least, for a software guy. ;-)
