Subject: Linux help

Hi Mr. Skoll

I am writing to you in response to your regular column in the magazine
Monitor which I read regularly.

I am trying to switch from Windows_98 with all its bugs, faults, crashes
and other horrors, to Linux. I have a separate, new, empty machine on
which I have loaded Mandrake Linux 9.0 which loaded quickly and found
all my peripherals.

However, I am having trouble running various things such as my high
speed internet connection via Bell Sympatico, my digital camera, my
scanner. I am also having trouble loading new applications – they load
OK but I cannot find out how to activate them from the desktop (I am
using KDE).

So, my question is : do you know anyone who can come to my home (for a
fee of course) and get my Linux desktop up and running for me?

Many thanks

Sincerely,

Croombe F. Pensom
