It hasn't yet. But I should point out that the instructions I followed
were these ones linked-to right from the download page(s)--
http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/instructions.html#linux -- they are
different from the ones at the link you posted up-thread (thank you for
that). Also, why does OOo not put a proper INSTALL file in the tarball
-- one that contains comprehensive installation instructions?
